REVISIONS TO THE MEDICARE ACO PROGRAM – INSIGHTS FROM THOMSON REUTERS

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) just released the final regulations and schedule for the Medicare Shared Savings Program (Shared Savings Program), formerly known as the ACO Program. The program’s final rule is significantly different from the draft rule published in the Spring of this year, with the main difference being the reduced cost and risk associated with the program. As a result, the final rule generated renewed interest in the program.
